If you have Multiplayer Gold (MGE), you can now start the game, select "Start a scenario", browse to the new folder and start to play. If you have FW, you should first run the program "MGEtoFW.bat" located in the "..\civ2\scenario\RiverWar" directory. Alternatively, you can do the following:
If you have completed all the steps, you can start Civilization II as usual, select "Start a scenario", browse to the appropriate subdirectory (\scenario\RiverWar) and click "OK". As some windows require a lot of space on the screen, it is advised that you switch your desktop to at least 800x600 before starting.
This scenario makes use of multiple events files. This means you will have to do a few things halfway the scenario. Don't worry, it's very easy, and you will be told exactly what to do. Simply save the game as "RIVERWAR.SAV" (exactly this name, not something different), go to the folder in your "..\civ2\scenarios\RiverWar" subfolder, and start the program "events.bat". This will allow the events part 2 to be loaded. If you wish to start the scenario for a second time, you'll have to start this same program and type in 1 instead of 2.
